The textile is composed of two identical panels joined together along the selvedge edge.
Each panel contains 3 broad, indigo-coloured stripes. Between the indigo stripes are dark and light yellow-red stripes.
Indigo stripes are decorated with 8-pointed stars in copper metallic yarn applied using the couching technique.
The red stripes are embellished less densely with another motif, also in metallic yarn. Perhaps it is silver.
Both ends of the textile are unfinished; perhaps it was never sewn into sarong form. It is likely that it was intended to be a sarong because the indigo stripe at one end is embellished less densely.
Condition: shows signs of wear, some stains.
The textile is loosely woven, which is of lower quality."^^xsd:string
