"Handpop Jan Klaassen.
This hand puppet consists of a stuffed cotton head, hands, and boots protruding from a mouse-grey gown in which the puppeteer can insert his/her hand.
The head is embellished with grey hair, beard, and moustache of stitched on stubbly wool yarns. The top is covered by a red hat. The eyes, nose and mouth are drawn onto the fabric in black.
The gown is embellished a knitted collar and sleeve in green, yellow, brown, and blue stripes. The neck closing is a black fabric strip with four white buttons. The same kind of black fabric is stitched onto the hem of the gown as trim. Five, large fabric flowers are appliquéd to the front of the gown.
Mrs. Visser held Sunday school in her room in the Berastagi internment camp and had to keep all of the children busy . She promised them a puppet theater and realized that promise on the occasion of her son, Henk´s birthday. This puppet, the giant, is made from old clothing."^^xsd:string
