The textile consists of two separately woven panels joined together awith hand stitching long the selvedge edges.
The cloth is hemmed at both ends with machine stitching.
Along the more elaborately decorated selvedge edge, small coins dangle, attached along a string of red, white, and blue beads. The coins are old and worn. One that I was able to read dates from 1853 1/10 G Nederlandsch Indie.
The panels are striped with red, white, and blue. The blue is very light in colour. The red appears to be constructed from a very fine red yarn alternated with a white yarn yielding a speckled red/pink colour.
The metallic gold yarn is very elaborate and applied in couching technique. It incorporates a variety of motifs including human figures and stars/crosses.
